Due to high
rates of 3G internet charges, users are still prefer to make video/Audio call
through Apps, in current market we have two well known apps FaceTime(Owned by
Apple) and Skype(Owned by Microsoft).
Two apps are
equally good, but one of biggest advantage of Skype has over Facetime is that
you can make audio and video call to other skype user on more types of
hardware(windows/Mac Computer/Android Devices/Windows Phone), and also you can
call regular telephone numbers for a bit of money.
Facetime is
also free but it restricts to only Apple made devices.
Video and audio quality in both apps may vary based on network and data
traffic issues, especially if you are calling over a 3G or 4G cellular connection instead of Wi-Fi . Since both apps are free for video calls,
there is nothing stopping you from using both as you need them.
